Hello my friend. Happy to offer some advice here. Now this may not be what you want to hear, but we give everyone the same advice: go to the best school you can get into. Any top twenty school will FORCE you to take accounting and finance etc. during your first year. And most schools will give you a nice array of electives once you get past your first year. And while you might focus on Kellogg, Duke, and even Stanford (the best schools in marketing) you should know that the marketing departments at other schools such as Booth, Ross, Stern, Haas, even HBS and Columbia are GREAT. The head of marketing at CBS is, you can be sure, one of the world’s leading minds in the field. So don’t get too caught up in this idea that “one school is best for marketing,” and “CBS is for finance, not marketing,” etc. In fact, you will be at a strong advantage in many ways when it’s time to apply for jobs, if you are NOT looking for a marketing position out of Kellogg. Why? Imagine how many apps P&G will get at Kellogg, versus how many they might get from Stanford, for example…
