本题的难点是predict，我觉得该词是个终止性的动词。就象find之类的词一样。

所以，

C除了貌似时态前后不吻合（其实，我认为时态用的没有问题，可以这样用）。

主要是analysts predicted for weeks 你可以说analysts predicted weeks ago,但是，不能说analysts predicted for weeks（predicted是个短时间完成的动作）。

A中的have been predicting for weeks表示过去几周许多分析家频繁预计，符合predict的用法。

下面是longman中，关于for的解释：

used to say how long an action or situation continues for
Bake the cake for 40 minutes.

We had been talking for a good half hour.

He's been off work for a while.

1、predict 可以用于现在完成进行时

2、for＋时间 不一定要用完成时

不知道这个例子能不能说明问题，open to discussion...

如果是这样的话还是同意A，因为时态的对应比较好

A is better than C for two reasons:

Grammatically, past tense is not supposed to mingle with present tense within one adverbial clause.C violates the grammar.

In terms of semantics, the analysts's prediction based on the economic trends is more logical, as indicated in A, than foretelling without referring to any data since, in C, "the analysts predicted" before seeing that the economy remains strong.

1）since+句子；and后平行必须也加句子，only C;

I vote A.

时态一致是ETS至高无上的规则之一,当然每个这样的规则都有特殊情况,就如OG36题说某动物are native to south America but were introduced into Florida during the 1930's那样,要因时因地而制宜.在此题中,并非属于类似的特殊情况.32楼和68楼mm,66楼的呐喊已经分析得很透彻了.C的时态确有问题.predict后面不能用虚拟语气,所以B和D也出局.A的because of没有任何问题,because the weather is bad 与 because of the bad weather 孰优孰劣?有时候because of更简洁,要看具体环境.

主从句时态明显不对啊.

还有for weeks当然是要跟完成时了。

A肯定没错。

偶开始选C，查了下牛津高阶，C 中的continues strong，是做动词，解释是：continue （with sth.) （使某事物）继续存在或不断发生，eg:Circumstances continue(to be) favorable.情况仍然是有利的。可见C中的continues可能是省略了to be的形式：continues to be strong.

A中的continued strength如前面讨论所说也是习惯用法

但是问题就来了，C确实存在三种时态

前两个动词还是可以搭配，但是到predicted就让人费解了。

但是A也有不好的地方

1. because of the economy’s continued strength, analysts have been predicting for weeks that the target will

1.首先economy’s continued strength不太好，没有生命的物体的所属关系一般倾向于用continued strength of economy,虽然只是相对错误但是OG里面一般都prefer the latter

2.have been predicting确实有一直到现在都在predict的意思，不过从前面的has raised与have been predicting,以及后面的will be raised again来看确实在时间关系上比较搭配。

我说，A中的have been predicting改成have predict是不是会好些啊？
