第一篇,不限时,看了好多前人写的和模板~~ 求大家指教~~! 谢谢大家了~
“For hundreds of years, the monetary system of most countries has been based on the exchange of metal coins and printed pieces of paper. However, because of recent developments in technology, the international community should consider replacing the entire system of coins and paper with a system of electronic accounts of credits and debits.”
Discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the opinion stated above. Support your views with reasons and/or examples from your own experience, observations, or reading.

The argument holds the opinion that as the technology develops, the entire system of coins and paper should be converted into a system of electronic accounts. Many critics would say that this proposition is not feasible because even the technology is advanced, there are still some flaws that can be taken advantages of by the hackers. However, in my opinion, the conversion from traditional exchange system to computerized system has far-reaching economic and social virtues that overweigh the potential risk of technical failure.
In the first place, a digital economy would be much more convenient than a traditional one, and businessmen can save a lot of time if they exchange through electronic accounts. Indeed, cash is not very good choice especially in international business which would involve many different banks from different countries, since you may be haunted by the troublesome works. But in digital world, the banks are totally responsible for dealing with these works, and businessmen should pay more attention to other aspects, works that are more important.
On the other hand, it is under the electronic system that the legality of the transactions can be better guaranteed than under the paper system. Since all the accounts are monitored by the central bank, economic crimes can hardly hide from the supervision. Once there are illicit incomes flowing into a malfeasant or a smuggler's accounts, the bank can suspect them, and can get information when the persons are investigated. So, digital accounts can fight crimes to some degree.
Furthermore, using electronic accounts, economists and the government can get more accurate data of the economy and propose more suitable policies. As far as we can imagine, in the digital world, all statistics can be so concentrated that they can, to the full extent, reflect the economic circumstance. So we can imply that the economic problems such as inflation and deflation can be controlled better and more quickly in the computerized economy than the one based on exchange of metal coins and of paper currency.
Admittedly, there are some obstacles to develop an entirely digital economy, but after weighing the pros and cons, I think the advantages to replace the entire system offset the disadvantages.
Consequently, I do agree that the entire traditional exchange system should be replaced by an electronic system, because, firstly, the revolutionary system can provide convenience, besides, it can administer illegal monetary transactions. The key point is not whether we should prompt the conversion but how we could facilitate the complicated process. |
