C中的in its paying是GMAT里的知名错吧，不够简洁

proved这里不是分词结构，而是个动词的过去式，prove这个词，主动和被动都是可以的：

It proves that...
It is proved that...
这两种表达都对

C的话But连接两个句子，主语应该是be proved 才对啊，少了谓语
