Cal means UC Berkeley For GRE, yes I guess. Also, I think my writing score kind of makes up for the verbal.

I have been here long enough so I am not too worried haha
first off congrats! and LOL @ ppl who've been recommending MSE over MSFE have no idea what they are talking about.
(1) school: yeah Columbia isn't HYPS but we're talking about finance recruiting here, NYC is a finance powerhouse for both sell-side and buy-side and have literally tons of companies out there. in case you don't know, Columbia is a top name and has a large alum base on Wall St. Stanford is a top name but finance doesn't run in its blood. If we are talking about entrepreneurship or tech it's Stanford hands down but not so much with finance. Lastly, it's New York baby!
(2) program: do you sincerely think that recruiters will give a damn about the "concentration", for whatever it is, after your MSE degree? No sir, they won't. You will be out there competing with 300 other students, a number equivalent to Columbia engineering's entire Master's class. MSFE, on the other hand, gives you a unique career service and a much better brand name amongst banks and funds.
