price 的用法，be priced at $10
我记得在托福语法中谈到，price 出现在at 后面表示代价，容易造成混淆，因此一般不用。
charge, 直接跟price for, price前面没介词，例子再 OG13 的解释中有蛛丝马迹：when rates means "prices charged," 可以说明无需介词

My two cents:

In the structure " the price of sth", sth means the stuff that worth this value. However, in D, "the price of what the manufacturers charge...", "what" actually refers to the amount the manufacturers charge for the drug. So, assume D is right, it become, "the price of the amount that manufacturers charge for the drug". Whatever you might think, I do believe the amount does not have a price.....

Meanwhile, I did not see any sign showing that the "of...." is modifying the "three times of". the "Price of" following "the three times of" already works as a modifier, if somebody does think that D is modifying the "three times", then it should be: "three times of the price, of what manufacturers charge for the drug....." Here "what" what is equivalent to the "price"..

My problem is chose from C or E, both sounds great. However in E, I really doubt whether we can say "Charge at"....

anyway, I will choose C in real exam, as I have not seen a conclusive answer so far....

May I conclude the discussion of this question:

The key to answering this question is the usage: ...charge + price(, e.g. 10USD) + for STH

The correct answer C: "the price (,per mg, ) that the DM charges for another product... " "that" 是 "charge"的受词。也就是说后半句是：the DM charges [the price] for…..

D, E 为何不行？？

D: the price of STH，所以of what 中的what 指的是another product。错。

E at wich, which 指的是price，代进去看看就知道：the DM charges [at the price] for

我开始选了E。但是看了大家的讨论，我认为应该选D。
charge price for sth. 是对的，但是这里的price一定是具体金额，如5￥等，这点我肯定。
答案D代入后，大家对what的用法争议很大。其实这里what 就是指代后面整个句子，是同位结构。
price of what （.....)是对price的限定。

我觉得这题是倍数的用法问题

three times + the + Noun Phrase

所以在这里就应该是 the price of sth.

sth.= what the drug's maker charges for another product with the same active ingredient

这道题目应当选C，支持D的都倾向于 price of sth 这个结构，但是这里的sth 已经由后面的介词for 带出来了,所以what 只能表示一定的价格, 但是这样的话，price of what(价格)逻辑上不通，显然用that 引导的从句比较好.

如果非要用what, 这句话可以改成 sth is sold for three times of what the drug's maker charges for another product with the same active ingredient

应该是d, three times of ...指三倍于 ,what 在这里代指 the price  the drug's maker charges for another product 如果 选that 就没有比较的意思
