Don't forget Memphis has Pankaj Jain, who did pretty well and also has reputation in Microstructure. Also, McInish published two articles on JFE in 2013 and 2015. Sandra Mortal is good at Corporate, and she has RFS and bunch of JFQAs. Overall, this dept is still strong but there are some problems you mentioned.
As for the placements, recent placements are much stronger than those old years. Jim Upson went to UTEP with a JFM in 2009. Archana Jain went to Rochester Institute of Technology with a JFE forthcoming in 2013. Ying Huang went to Manitoba with a JBF in 2014. The guy graduating this year is working on real estate and has two A level real estate forthcoming.
The training mode in Memphis is the key of its better placements than most of other peer schools. As early as the first year, students are encouraged to coauthored with PK Jain or McInish. Anyway, I am still optimistic to their program. |
