跟着Rebecca Hahn好好做，Tilburg做empirical的有很好的placement,但是貌似都是外国人。

赫赫，楼主显然是没别的选择阿，有的话就不用再这纠结了。

Maryland的Kim貌似已经半退了，LZ还有别的选择吗？显然做theory最好的是Northwestern和Minnesota啊，Northwestern今年做theory的去了Stanford, Minnesota今年一个做theory的中国人去了CMU

恩，欧洲毕业的中国人前途不大，还是去umd吧，毕业后混个美国的学校当faculty还是问题不大的。

btw, if u are only a fresh master student, ur research interest doesn't matter at all. It will change very quickly

Yes, you are right. Professor Kim told me that they recruited another candidate who said she will not do empirical at all, but he just does not believe her. But the question is what if my interest will not change, in that case  no body could help me in the department. I think it will be extremely hard, if possible,  for me to do it by myself.

By the way, Tilburg's program is very comprehensive. They have experts in almost all the areas. So, no matter what your interest will change to, you can always get a good supervisor. Plus, by information from jingzhimeng and anderuth, the faculties there are very nice, would like to help you, which I think is most important for a Phd study.
