"The best way to improve the quality of education is to increase teachers' salaries'."
Education is playing a vital role in modern living. For improve the quality of the education, some people argue that the best way is to increase the teachers' salaries. I disagree although the statement has considerable truth. Admittedly, increasing teachers' salaries, to some extent, can promote the development of education. It cans help teachers to focus on teaching. They will no need to worry about whether the salary provide for family is enough. It also cans attract outstanding people to the field of education. For instance, an economist be a professor can earn much money than be a consultant of a company, generally speaking, he or she is willing to be a teacher. However, to say that the best way to improve the quality of the education is to increase the teachers' salaries does not hold water. To pay much for teachers merely solve their life issues. In order to improve the quality of education, we can offer diverse base equipment for students to gain knowledge. For example, in the astronomy class, if the students observing the planet instead of only reading book, the students will feel so fascinating. It seems that the location of Pluto or Jupiter is easier to remember. It also can be learn from that combine reading and practice is a useful way for improving the effect of education.
For another thing, increasing teachers' salaries can make education more expensive. The reason is that some schools might raise tuitions in order to pay the increased salaries. As a result, it is possible that many students from indigent families will choose drop out of school. Therefore, school will miss many talented people which mean that losing the significance of education. A recent survey can prove my point. The survey, released by a prestigious research institute after polling thousands of students' families, has found that a significant percentage of respondents claimed that the spending for their children is a heavy burden, especially the tuition. And according to the survey, some of the parents cannot bear the fee much more.
All in all, I believe that to improve the quality of education, increasing teachers' salaries are useful for it more or less, but it is not the best way for it absolutely. |
