回楼上，就是本科大四时自己申请，然后面试，录取。。过程比较平淡了。这种RA是专门给本科毕业想去读PhD的人干的（估计你早就知道了吧），所以很多美国人本科毕业也申请这个，但是可能对申请econ PhD更有帮助吧

这周三收到的通知。Package大家都知道了，很generous，的确很有诱惑力啊，而且当初visit的时候跟faculty聊得很愉快，感觉是个很environment很nice的department。

谢谢楼上！面试很让人吃惊的是几乎没问technical和research questions，大概就问问我的背景，RA干了些什么等等，好像就是确认我的申请资料上的内容。基本就是像在聊天。所有的faculty (包括Kerry Back）都非常nice，完了还邀请我们一起去bar，哈哈

I think liberal arts college is really average-profile background. What really makes you stand out?

haha, I totally agree with you, that's why I didn't really expect anything at the beginning. If there's anything that helped, maybe I was able to talk about research and my understanding of the field at a deeper level, and relate them to my coauthored research papers..
