Thank you so much OP. But I am just wondering if it is a different story for people without any w/e to land on an internship? Is there any available information on that?
Well, internship period varies among banks and locations but in general, summer internship begins in middle June and ends in late August, 10 weeks.
For sure Tepper Career Opportunity Center will help us get jobs. They helped review and modify CV/cover letters, conduct mock interview and hold alumni events. Every and each of MBA/MSCF will be assign to a personal career consultant. They also update us job information and offer statistics on a weekly basis.
We have an online application system called Simplicity, though which we can drop our CVs/Cover letters. Generally, firms posting internships through Simplicity treat CMU and Tepper MBA/MSCF in particular as target.
On the other hand, students are free to make their own network and do their own job research.
Per your question, some students are either sponsored by their employers or self-employed and thus do not have to seek internships. Admittedly, we do have some guys waiting for offers right now, yet with the help of COC and alum, we expect more offers coming.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
