NYU will have to change this interview policy later...  It can't effectively compete with other schools for top quality international R1 candidates...
US based candidates interview as early as first week of December and a few even receive offers by the end of December.

请问 thecow10000 和各位申请的同学，大家有没有收到到学校去面试这个选项？还是所有亚洲的申请人都得等Adcom 二月份来？

个人觉得去学校看看也不错，就是办签证太麻烦了。

NYU interviews international R1's with R2's in Feb-Mar.  This is definitely one disadvantage of using all adcom for interviews.

Just a note: last year NYU interviewed 23% of the total applicant pool and acceptance rate was 13%.

Re: LS - A Chinese applicant already has Chinese "international exposure." to the eyes of American Adcom.  You just need to make sure your TOEFL score is high to prove you can handle curriculum in English.

most chinese students who got into NYU in past years have a score over 110. you could track the record on CD

楼上说得很对。托福尽量要考到110，否则即使你进了Stern，上课和课后讨论也会很痛苦。

学校都是安排admission直接飞中国面试，相比校友面试更有效，更直接。代价就是两轮并一轮。所以第一轮和第二轮之间，对于中国的applicant差别不是特别大。

The ultimate Admission Director is a female.  I am not sure if she conducts interviews.  I interviewed with a female adcom member ("senior associate director").  I know someone interviewed with a male.  I know there are at least another female and another male.   So right now it's 3 females and 2 males...
