But we are not talking about A-level, I'm applying for postgraduate. And btw my undergrad school has a very good Business Studies ranking(useless, right?). Dose it mean "business studies" as a whole is in LSE's black list? Just because of the title and then don't even bother to see what courses I've done?
Dont think business studies major is on any black list, but business studies is considered as a "soft subject" by many, especially if you compare it with economics.
Subject ranking is certainly useful when trying to decide which universities to apply, but I guess for students applying for master programs or pursuing job placements, university ranking (and your gpa?) carries more weight.
I totally understand the first impression that Business Studies gives is not technical enough. But most of my modules are highly quantitative. Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Advanced Microeconomics, Advanced Principles of Finance, Statistics, etc. I would say it's not fair to reject me if it is only because of my "Business Studies" title.
