以下是引用心静在2003-5-27 0:05:00的发言: 这个“a period ”指“a hundred years”有什么错吗?
I remembered that Bai Yong once talked this question in his class. He said choice D illogicaly suggests that any one hundred years is a period beginning from 1778. The implication of the appositive "a period beginning from 1778" doesn't match with that of "a hundred years".
哈哈,a period of a hundred years是可以两者都出现的表达,其实a period of xx years这个表达十分常用,记住吧。
所有的选项都用了a hundred years,用的都是不定冠词a,所以这里的a hundred years是一个笼统的概念,虽然我不主张改句子,但是这个句子要想不像ETS强调D那样,至少要用the hundred years that ... 这样一个定冠词引导的名词结构。或许这个改法也怎么合适,但是定冠词比不定冠词要好。当然,记住a period of xx years最好。
