GMAT 中是不是compare with 和compare to，例如： One of four babies are now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared with just one of six born in 1975.

(A) of four babies are now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared with just one of six born

(B) of four babies is now born to a mother whose age is thirty or older, compared to just one of six babies who were born

(C) baby in four are now born to mothers aged thirty or older, compared to just one in six

(D) baby in four is now born to a mother aged thirty or older, compared with just one in six（D）

(E) baby in four is now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared to just one in six

把E项中的more改成older是不是也对？

compare with与compare to在GMAT中没有特别的区别，我记得CR语法笔记里说的，但非要有，就是compare to有“把...比作什么”的意思，而compare with 没有这层意思。

E中的错误我认为是在mothers 应该和主语One baby一致

compare with  意思就是与点点点相比  ｃｏｍｐａｒｅ ｔｏ 意思就是把点点比作!

这道题在白勇老师的书上解释的不太充分

One of four babies are now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared with just one of six born in 1975.

(A) of four babies are now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared with just one of six born
(B) of four babies is now born to a mother whose age is thirty or older, compared to just one of six babies who were born
(C) baby in four are now born to mothers aged thirty or older, compared to just one in six
(D) baby in four is now born to a mother aged thirty or older, compared with just one in six
(E) baby in four is now born to mothers aged thirty years or more, compared to just one in six

分析句义：现在的数据是：四分之一的新生儿的母亲超过30岁，对比：在1975年这个数据是六分之一。

首先看A B两项, 将它们后半部分和主句连读：
compared with just one of six born in 1975
compared to just one of six babies who were born in 1975
因为in 1975出现在born之后，从而产生了限定歧义; 意思到底是1975年的时候的数据是六分之一呢，还是说1975年出生的婴儿呢？
另外A谓语动词are用了复数，与主语one (baby) 不一致
排除A， B两项

C 和E项中，主语是一个婴儿，其只有一个母亲，所以不能使用to mothers.
另外C项中主谓不一致。
排除CE

选择D


白勇老师的书中（2010年第一版，第69-70页）通过判断compare to /with而派出了B  C  E,  通过主谓一致排除 A C。 另外谈到B项不简洁，不倾向于使用one of four babies的表达。
我觉得这几个问题中，除了主谓一致外，都不能作为排除选项的依据。
