刚刚收到Yale的interview invitation。请问我应该让adcom “make local arrangement" 还是应该疯狂一点,飞去美国面试呢?求经验!!!
Dear ***, Greetings from the Yale School of Management! We have had a chance to review your application and are impressed by your accomplishments. We would like the opportunity to meet you in person for an interview on campus. An interview will provide us with an additional perspective on your candidacy and also give you an opportunity to talk directly with a member of the Yale SOM community. A few details about admission interviews: Interviews are scheduled to last thirty minutes. Interviews are conducted primarily by trained second year students during the school year, although staff members occasionally conduct interviews as well. To maintain objectivity and independence, your interviewer will only have seen your resume prior to the interview, but not any other portion of your application. To arrange your appointment, please click here to view our online scheduler. We understand that it may not be possible for you to visit New Haven for your interview. If that’s the case, please let us know by contacting Yale SOM Admissions and we will try to make local arrangements for you. When you schedule an interview through our online scheduler, you are automatically registered for a full day of campus visit activities on your interview day, beginning at 9:45 AM. As part of your campus visit, you will have the opportunity to attend a class, take a student-led tour of campus, have lunch with current students, and participate in a Q&A with an admissions officer. For more detailed information about the campus visit schedule, please click here to view our campus visit website. While you are here, you might also like to explore the greater University and the city of New Haven, which is home to a number of museums, restaurants and shops. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Yale SOM Admissions 203-432-6380 mba.interview@yale.edu
[Wahooooo! J Congratulations! Great job on getting that interview. The answer to your question is that they don’t expect you to fly all the way to the US. Schools know full-well that that is very difficult for many people. For example, when I got my interviews at all of the business schools I applied to (including HBS, Stanford, etc.) I didn’t go to campus. I did all of my interviews through a local alum. And I got in everywhere! J So don’t worry about it—if you don’t have the means to make it in person, you don’t have to. After all, spending $2,000 for one night is madness, and the adcom knows that. Good luck!
