prep新版对due to 的解释：1）、due to一般作为复杂介词与owing to同义。然而有些人认为due在该组合中是形容词，因此反对下句中的用法，因为它违背了无动词分句的依附规则：
Due to bad weather, classes have been cancelled today.
那些人认为下句是可以的：Cancellation of classes today is due to bad weather.
由于GMAT语法的严格性，due to也不应该被放在句首。
2）、due to有attribute, caused by的意思。
Due to means"cause by". It shoud only be used if it can be substitued with "caused by".
It doed not mean the same thing as "because of ",
Incorrect: The game was postponed due to rain.
Correct: The game was postponed because of rain.
Correct: The game's postponement was due to rain.

确实，GMAC就爱出这种烂题，明明说了"两组合拼"，不是说"两组同做合并会员制"，偏偏有underlining assumption: 有人还是只有一个会籍。。。所有题目最怕这种。
现在都只记着: 看到有两种分类然后有两组人/东西，就一定是跟重叠有关，不要用自己一贯的想法。

DUE TO 跟 BECAUSE OF 不可以互换。

关于这个SC，会犯这个错误是因为大家都惯性地错误用Due to 作句子开始。网上搜一下，都是在说不能用Due to/Based on 作句子开始。 Due to 形容名词，because of形容动词，可以这样记着:

Some would say that the rising price of gas is due to corporate greed.
Some would say that the price of gas is rising because of corporate greed.

Due to 前面是名词+is
Because of前面是动词

Because of 可以作作句子开始。

所以这个SC，是两个完整句给and连着，due to选项可以都丢掉。(D, E)

然后是时间性和平衡问题。前面是Federal Reserve has raised its short-term interest... ，用present perfect tense 是因为Since -- 没有特定一个时间点，是从February至某一个时间的意思，那后面大概都只能是present或present perfect。看后面那句用for weeks，也代表没有一个特定时间点，所以是用present perfect。 predicted 选项也可以都丢掉。 (B, C)
