Hi Jon, I'm wondering whether a program from 11 to 20 is suitable for me? Below is my background. Education: B.A. in International accounting Qualification: Certified General Accountants of Canada W/E: Auditor (3 years in Big Four and 1.5 years in local firm) Gmat: 770 Toefl:105(but my speaking score is only 20) GPA:3.2/4.0
Besides, I have a relative who used to be the Chief Commander of the Chinese Navy, should I mention this skillfully in my essay or should I avoid mentioning this background?
Thank you for your help!

Hey there! Schools ranked 11-20 would be a great place for you to shoot. You should absolutely do it! While 105 is a bit low, the 770 should overcome that problem for you. Not for a top five program, but schools in the 15-20 range should be right in your range. And yes, I would try to find a graceful way to work in the fact that you have some very connected relatives. But only if it is relevant, somehow, to your career goals or one of your stories—perhaps even in one of the “why is your background unique” stories. That could be a neat couple sentences. Great job—and keep up the good work!
