选D，substitute for 取代，不过这样的话谓语动词不止一个了啊，还有is 也是谓语动词啊？

选B，本来是选B了，后来又看到了intelligence是不是应该改为形容词intelligent啊？

substitute前面有a，它是个名词

需要注意的是不是只有形容词才能修饰名词的，如果一个名词有形容词时要优先使用adj，如果没有adj，是可以用名词来修饰的。另为当要表示一个名词的质地color TV,材料glod watch,目的intelligence test是需要用名词来修饰的。

substitue for是固定用法。
