是TPO1的综合写作,希望大家可以帮我分析下,我考了两次都是fair,很费解。。。不给力啊!!!

In this lecture, the professor indicates some points to cast doubt on the reading passage about the benefit of changing from work five days a week to four-day work week. The reading passage contends that the change of work time will definitely benefit the profit of the company, reduce the unemployment rate and get employees' life better. However, the professor asserts that four-day work will not bring benefit from these three aspects.

In the first place, the professor claims that changing from a five-day work to a four-day work will cut down the profit of companies. According to the professor, adding new workers will costs much more on training and medical services. What's more, the no matter whether the work week is five-day or four-day, the cost of each employee's health benefit will keep the same, and the additional new workers will cost more on this aspect, which will cut into the profit of companies. While in the reading passage, fewer costly errors will be made due to the more rested and alert employees who choose to work four days a week and accept a pay of 80 percent of the normal rate. Therefore, the lecture's point is contrary to what the reading passage states.

In the second place, the professor argues that the unemployment rate may not be reduced. In other words, with the high cost of additional new workers, companies may ask current workers to work over. And companies may expect that a five-day work can be completed in four days. So no more new workers are needed, thus not reducing the unemployment. However, the reading passage contends that the extra workload will shift to the new adding workers. And this contradicts to the professor's argument.

In the third place, the professor indicates that choosing work four-day a week will raise some risks such as decreased chance of advancing career. Workers who choose work four-day a week may even lose their jobs. Moreover, employees with a five-day work week are much more likely to get promotion. But the reading passage states that four-day work employees will have more free time to improve the quality of their lives. The point made by the professor casts doubt on the reading passage because it overlooks some other factors, less promotion chance, losing jobs to improve the quality of life.
