Nowadays, more and more young people are preferring to go to a college than directly finding a job, especially in the urban area. So how can the colleges fascinate them so much? Apparently, a better education may lead to increased knowledge, more skills, and maybe finally a greater job. But I think there must be far more advantages beside these, and I list them as follows:

First of all, college is a fantastic stage for social communications. As many different people gathered together here, a college is just like a small town, the differences is that the students run this place all on their own. There are a lot of parties, clubs, public activities, during which you could know people from different place, of different backgrounds, major in different subjects. This offers you the great opportunity to know the society, know the people, and try to find where you should be. The friendship you build up here will definitely effect your life.


Second, college makes you independent in living. Attending a college probably means that you will be far away from your home, for a quite long time. As your parents could not be hanging around you, your have to do things all by yourself, just like washing, patching, cleaning, fixing, etc. That will not be the worst, maybe you will get sick, starve hungry or out of money, anything terrible could happen on you and you will have to face it. As troubles bothers you, they also helps you to grow, and if nothing could easily conquers you, you are already an adult.


Last but not the least, the great fortune which the college gives you or teaches you, is the ways of thinking. Way of thinking, which I think, has far more value than static knowledge, enables you to effectively analyze when met with an problem, to look into the same matters from different aspect, to innovate if old ways can not solve the problem, and also, to think about your career, your life and the society in depth. That is the true genius of us, and the most valuable thing which the college can give to you.


In summary, attending a college will not only raise your knowledge and skills but also makes you more social, independent in mind, gives you greater ability to think. This guise the reason that so many young people are chasing for it. And if you can take full advantage of this period, you will benefit for all your life.
