LBS interview experiences sharing

Concerning the interviewer, I check his namecard again. Actually he is the  senior VP in AIG.

About the position you mentioned in PingAn insurance, I have no more idea. But I strongly believe that we do a MBA not only because our short term career advance, but also for the long term career advance. Actually I am a senior management in a Top 1 medical company in the world before. Now I start up my own business and develop smoothly. But when I discuss all these with the interviewer, both of us feel that MBA is a valuable life experience. And we can get something we never imagine before MBA.

Especially in LBS MBA, the student body is diversified and senior. According to the intervierwer and my information from some of my business friends, LBS student body was divided into three groups:

1, senior manager in super company , like some GM or VP in top company before MBA;

2, Family enterprise successor and successful entrepreneur, like some famous family in HK;

3, young guys with high scores and working experiences in IB and Consultant and other industry.

So I think that it will be a funny and educational experiences in LBS.

I encourage more senior manager to apply for a MBA in LBS because I will consider a MBA in the height of career will contribute more to future career. And this will rebuild a more balanced life to help a young senior manager to develop consistently and stably  in the future.

你好厉害，这么年轻都已经在世界第一的公司做管理层了，太牛拉！当然我不知道您指的senior management 是什么？是全球的，地区的，还是中国区的？还有是中国区的总一级的还是高级经理级，我很佩服你，人才，这么年轻就这么高级别，可能是我水平太差，没见到周围的朋友或同事这么年纪做到这么高的位置。
另外，我在AIG工作过，当然没你那么牛。他读书出来当SVP我相信，但是我对他之前就做到平安做哪个级别的副总表示怀疑。
另外，按照你所提出的LBS的选人标准，我想对于其他普通行业或者是没有做到那么高的职位的人是没有什么可能拉。
那从另外一个方面来看，按照你的选法，都是很牛的人，那其实MBA对他们的价值并没有那么大拉，而且找工作更本不是问题，越来越感觉是EMBA。

平安还是很特殊的。看看平安的童恺，张子欣就知道，平安可不是国企。不过童是牛津本科+INSEAD MBA，工作经验是高盛，麦肯锡，平安。平安薪水不错哦。

Sorry for my misleading you all. After I checked some admitted students in CD today, I found that most of CDer who was admitted by LBS are young guys, typical MBA applicants. So I think that senior management level is the minority in MBA. Perhaps this interviewer told me those guys who are come from other countries. Actually I have some friends in LBS. They are all young guys with 4-6 years working experiences.

Anyway, I think that senior manager should apply for MBA, not EMBA, if they have enough time slots.

Concerning my position, it is not general manager. Just the NSM.

平安的这些高层基本三个背景，一是跟着马老板出来混得很早的人，比如他们集团的常务副总，都是本土的。第二，从国外台湾香港挖过来的人，比如张子欣；还有原来的那个首席精算师，老外；台湾AIG的老大，陈强，不过离开很久了，我也有幸做过他的下属。第三，近几年提起来的一些年轻人，比如现在的财险总经理。
平安的一般员工和大陆出身的管理者薪水很低，平安的高薪水只给外面挖过来的非大陆的这帮人，还有就是几个跟着马老板很早的人。
