The general placement situation of IEOR is, honestly, not good. Although the MSFE program performs well considering Columbia's reputation and location advantage, students from other programs, saying MSOR & MSEMS, had a really hard time finding a job especially in a economic down turn.
If you are not heading to the MSFE , then think twice before choose here if you have alternatives. You may easily get lost in a 400+ ppl department competing with 5 bachelor's programs, 4 master's programs, one professional degree, and one PhD program all housed in the same IEOR department.
