In my opinion MSU is a good choice. Some of my friends graduating from MSU with finance concentration have gotten pretty decent jobs in finance. You’d better ask MSU career center to grab more information about past job search in finance. They might give you more reliable suggestion than you get from here. Those career staffs are very nice, so just feel free to ask them anything especially how many on-campus recruiters will hire foreign students in finance and how many students in finance are enrolled by MSU every year.
UTA surely is a great school, not to mention the location. It would be a good choice if it were not for the financial problem you mentioned. After all you have to consider the ratio of I/R when you make the decision. You also should consider the peer competition. It is said that it is difficult for an MBA from china who graduates from a B-school highly ranking in finance to get a job in the US. Because the peers, whether they be domestic or foreign, are so strong in the finance background that the situation become one of whether you can beat your peers from the same school instead of those from other schools. That is why many top-5 B-school MBA could not get a job even after graduation while others from those comparatively low ranking schools secured a decent position rapidly. Although have no idea about UTA’ rank in accounting, I intensely suggest you consider this situation and seek alumni and career staffs’ advice. Good Luck! |
