In a big trouble. Have been admitted to four programs, I planned to take the offer from Schulich. However, I received the funding information. SO disappointing for me. After paying tuition, I have only around $16000 per year. The first year is Ok. Extra $4000 scholarship.Since then, only $16000 per year. I am a bit obliged to take the offer from Schulich because a Chinese professor there helped me ensure a spot. However, the funding is really too low compared with ASU and G Tech. As a matter of fact, I have communicated with ASU about my decision. Then, they can recruit students on the wait list.
What should I do now? Still go to Schulich? or Choose G Tech (24000)? Any suggestions? SIgn.
Compared to what you would earn after the PhD, that 8k difference is really nothing. As long as the money is enough for you, choose the one that fits you best.
钱并不是最重要的吧~~关键是LZ到底想作什么research, 毕竟PHD时间长,两所学校的research 总是有差异的吧~或者问问你现在的老板,过来人总有心得吧~anyway, hope you can make a wise decision~

As a matter of fact, I am quite flexible with research interests. If choosing Schulich, you will be able to apply for permanent residence in Canada when you are a student. By the time you graduate, you can get a Canadian passport if you want... Thank you so much for all the suggestions.
