first, lets define terminating decimal. The word “terminate” means “end”.
A decimal that ends is a terminating decimal.
In other words, a terminating decimal doesn’t keep going. A terminating decimal will have a finite number of digits after the decimal point. such as 3/4=0.75 is a terminating decimal. or a rational number.
so, factor of 60 will have ,1,60,2,30,3,10,5,6......... the way we determine if a fraction a rational or terminating number is more concern its denominator.
ok, lets see statment 2, d is factor of 250.
factors of 250 are:1,250,2,125,5,50,10,25. so, this become very useful.
all of its factor are ending with either 0 or 5. so, that means any number divide by it will become a rational number and also with finite number.
so, we could see that statement 2 alone is sufficient.
and statement 1, is not sufficient enough.
so, the final answer is B. |
