There will often spring up a ubiquitous debate on the dilemma whether to spend time with one or two close friends or with a large number of friends. It should be fun to hang out with a group of friends at the party to celebrate the festivals. While, it will also be nice to chat with one or two close friends in the coffee shop on Sunday afternoon. Personally, I side with the latter. The most consequential and conspicuous advantages will be demonstrated as follows.
To begin with, it is normally said that one or two close friends could become the selection pool of true friends. In the light of this definition, people might regard one or two close friends as their true friends. It is reliable and creditable to share personal secrets in such small group, in which way people can share the happiness and adversities. Only close friends can understand their friends’ trouble or worry and can find out more or less solutions to eliminate. Take me as an example, I struggled to tell my close friends that I was in financial tight last year and find no way to support life anymore. They expressed great support and lent me alimony which could cover regular life for 2 months. Fortunately, 1 month later, I landed a job in the local community. I would not be able to afford a life if my close friends did not aid me. It is beneficial to have close friends to come over difficulties.
In addition, behind my reason that help out each other among close friends lies an equally important fact that taking time with close friends would encourage each other to fight for the same career goal and to strive for life destination. It is worth to spend time with close friends who have the same interest and passion for one cause to launch certain business by compensating the advantages and disadvantages. Take dozens of successful businessmen as example, Bill Grates dropped from Harvard University and began to start the engine of Microsoft with Allen, the only guy who could understand Bill’s ambition. As a result, they succeeded to produce the biggest software company. Also, Steven Jobs, one of the smartest geniuses in the world, combined his best friend Woz’s fabulous technical brain to create Apple Computer and fashionable music device Ipod. Thus, once or more examples tell us that taking time with close friends will make your life different.
Admittedly, spending time with a group of friends has undeniable merits, including party events, travelling and so on. However, the advantages of being with a group of friends carry less weight that those of staying with one or two close friends.
In conclusion, despite some minor drawbacks such as large scale of party events, spending time with close friends, compared with having fun with a group of friends, is instrumental rather than detrimental to us. It will benefit not only in sharing secrets, but also in fighting for career goals. Hence, enjoying time with one or two close friends will be valuable to people’s life.
