Spiders are not insects, as many people think, nor even nearly related to them一语,我译做“就像很多人所想的那样,蜘蛛不是昆虫,甚至不是昆虫近亲”。

As many people think As many people know, spiders are not insects / Spiders, as many people know, are not insects / Spiders are not insects, as many people know(很多人都知道,蜘蛛不是昆虫)。

但Spiders are not insects, as many people think / believe却是as many people think / believe they are 的意思。 Mr Ma is not a patriot, as you believe, but a self-seeking politician Mr Ma is not a patriot, as you rightly believe(你的判断没错,马先生并不爱国)。

There are no legal limits, as there are for cod and haddock, on the size of monkfish that can be caught.
1) There are no legal limits, as there are no legal limits for cod and haddock, on the size of monkfish that can be caught.

前后都表示否定,这样写没问题,不过as there are no for cod and haddock即可。

2) There are legal limits, as there are no legal limits for cod and haddock, on the size of monkfish that can be caught.

There are legal limits, which are absent for cod and haddock, on the size ...
