According to admission officer, last year 30% of people who submitted applications received interview invitations.  Acceptance rate was 16-17%.

The majority of interview invites are sent out in the last 3-4 days. So I wouldn't get too excited yet. I, personally, received my interview invite on the last day.

shuxuehai- The numbers I got was for the overall number.  I think the overall interviewed rate was 30% (from admission officer for class of 2011).  Applications only went up around 3% from 2010 to 2011 and enrollment was up around 5%...  I don't think there isany way for overall acceptance rate to go down from the 16/17% for class of 2010 to 10% for class of 2011.  Unless the 10% number you quoted was for Chinese applicants.

Jason-  this is good information to know... also bad to know... I bet some people will go crazy waiting for the invitation between 10/22 and 11/11.

In the information session I attended, the Adcom made a presentation in which the total number of applications, the total number of interviews and the total number of admissions were quoted... I did not remember the exact numbers, but what I remembered clearly was that the Adcom said if they receives 10 applications, 3 applicants would be interviewed, and at last 1 will be admitted...

I don't doubt what you saw form the info session.  But let's still hope my number (16-17% admitted) is right.  Your scenario's % is too scary!

is it the same case for applicants from China? there have been no reports of wharton interview invitation in this forum so far...
