请问工科背景申请Finance PhD机会大不大

请教各位。本人北美30名左右学校CS master在读，没有任何finance 背景，想毕业后申请finance PhD。


请问申请到top 20 有没有希望。谢谢先。

如果想申请的话，还应该做那些准备工作呢

Not that I want to discourage you, but it's not easy to get in. Top 30 is much more likely. If you want more answers, you should give more information first.

个人情况：CS 本科GPA 85%. Master 在读GPA 93%. 毕业前可能会有一篇top CS conference/jounal paper. 没读过任何finance 的课. 准备考GMAT/GRE.


如果按照前20的标准，


Q: 1. 如果补2-3门finance 的课是否有帮助


                 2. GMAT/GRE 需要多少分

1. no use, math classes are more useful if you have that much time


2. Gmat >700, GRE >V600/Q800


try to go to the business college in your current school, find the best research finance professor there, tell him your goal, and be his Research Assistant so that 1) you have valuable reserach experience in finance, 2) you will get a good recommendation letter, and 3) you will know whether you like    finance research    and you will have    better things to write on your statement of purpose
