Stanford”,

Are these following all true?

Graduted from    CSTU gifted young class with a BS

Received MS degree in CS from UIUC

Worked for Microsoft in the US

GGPA 4.0/GMAT 750

Basically, you are qualitfied for any BSchool if you have    a    background like this. Otherwise, you    might wast your money and time    on stanford.

The article is well encouraging anyway.

As far as I know, all the above is true with Alan Guo. Besides, he's with    a 3.8 UGPA and one of key creators of MS Internet Explorer.

Alan's qualification is among the top of the top. He is not just a regular engineer. So if you want to duplicate his success, you'd better do something that not that many people can do.

Wow...folks are well informed. Several points though:
I did not get in HBS and Wharton, so apparently there is still a lot of competition out there. In fact, when I was writing my HBS essays, I said to myself: “I would not admit this guy, if I were the admit officer”.
Several disadvantages I had: (1) I only had only ~1.5 yrs of full-time working experience at the point when I submitted application. This was a big disadvantage, considering an average of 4+ yrs; (2) I did not have much managerial background, and had a focused engineering career; and (3) I could not ask my direct manager to write recommendation letter for me, because I did not want my team know that I was applying.
I was an EE major, not CS.I was only one of developers in IE team, although at a time there were only 3 developers working for IE, including me. I know people with very similar background did not get in.
I    guess the take away is that there is no guarantee of success in anything, so we just need to keep trying. fficeffice" />

Cool! Thanks for your encouragement.    Stanford always is my dream, I    want to    try it even though I am so weak.

Although luck is important, I don’t think MBA admission is a lottery though.
