请问推荐信到底多重要？

正在写推荐信，跟推荐人联系了好几次，改了几遍。
有人说推荐信无足轻重，但这是美国商学院录取的一个规定，所以他们必须要收。
而且据说商学院主要是看那些负面的评价，因为一般都是正面的内容，审美疲劳了。


哪位给我指点一下？谢谢。

我的感觉是这样的，不一定对

如果不是特别特别有意义的推荐信，重要性只能说一般

但推荐信至少给你一个空间（即便重要性肯定没有essay大），让你讲essay中没说到的故事。

Ziye210 is definitely correct.  The person who write your recommendation should be your direct manager who has observed your development.  Adcom will read how you handle/improve from mistakes/failures and the quality of your strengths. 

Different schools view recommendations differently.  For HBS, essay+recommendation as a package is more important than the #'s of GPA and GMAT.  Every year, there are so many people with great accomplishments and characters that are admitted into Harvard with low 700's GMAT and there are so many rejected with 750+ GMAT.
