这道题答案是A, 为什么不能是C呢？

我觉得划线部分应该是than babies were born to women，不知道对不对，请NN指点，万分感谢

本人语法很烂，不过说说我的看法，大家讨论一下。

我觉得A对的，补全省略的部分应该是：than women under the age of thirty.

你觉得上面这个对么？应该是than to you 比较好吧。所以你要选C，就至少应该是than to XXXXXXX。

而且选C后面是她们小于30，more 后面是大于30的妇女生孩子。这两个也不是对称结构啊。

一般只有在比较主语时才需要补出助动词，拿楼上那个例子说好了

this book means more to me than you.

this book means more to me than that book does.

要知道补出助动词的目的是为了防止歧义，第二句话如果不补助动词就有歧义了

还是不懂。。。。。。选c就是补出了be动词啊，应该更好才对啊。而且我认为比较的对象应该是babies。

这里不能加THEY，加了就指代不清了，我觉得这里是30岁以上的女人和30岁以下的女人相比较

啥？比较主语的时候肯定是不补出助动词啦。I run faster than you，正确；I run faster than you do, 错误。

显然，是想比较宾语的，是women的怎样怎样...，也就是（这么说就有点不负责任了）women的宾语

women over the age of thirty than under it. -----women that is over thirty than under thirty

我的想法源于，比较的庖丁解牛。这个是比较的宾语，虽然庖丁解牛里没有谈到，但是我觉得似乎可以这样应用吧

如有更简单的或者是不对的地方，希望大家指正

这个就尴尬了。如果比较的是宾语，那是应该补出助动词啊。上面的说法反而是“比较宾语，需要省略助动词”了。I eat apples faster than you "DO"，这个时候必须补出do。如果是比较宾语，那上面应该是“they were”了。

虽然我一开始也是选的C， 不过根据PREP的解释，代词要遵循就近指代的原则，所以

than they were 是 than wowen were 的代替，意思显然不对。

不过A 选项more babies were born to women over the age of thirty than under it. 我也觉得不妥，

如果改成 more babies were born to women over the age of thirty than THOSE under it. 可能更好点，

愚钝之见，大家一起学习啊，最近被语法这一块弄的焦头烂额.
