I'm not exactly a senior finance staff. Yet I hope the following will be helpful to the newies, Firstly, prior to answer LZ question, here is the facts that you should be aware of. Corporate Finance in indurstries vs. Corporate Finance in IB are different concepts. Former is general accounting job plus financial analysis,planning, etc. while latter is mainly focus on corporate financing (ie. underwriting) and M&A. Speaking of career planning, that depends on what you want out of it. In general, industries CF is more balanced choice when it comes to lifestyle, while IB CF is the most demanding job you could ever see. Of course if what you care is solely money, the IB CF paycheque will barely dissapoint you. For more info, i recommend you to check www.wetfeet.com.
