托福写作06年一道真题

临近考试，写了一篇06年的真题，自我感觉不是太好，但是不知道问题的所在。请各位大师指教。谢谢！！！

你认为接下来20 年汽车的使用会不会减少?

 

Nowadays, more and more people debate about the issue whether or not to reduce the number of cars in use. Some people hold the opinion that the use of cars will not decrease and cars will perform a role of significance in daily life of each family. However, others contradict it. From my point of view, the number of cars will reduce in the following 20 years due to the following three reasons.

 

In the first place, the most important reason in support of my view is that people are beginning to realize the importance of the pollution of the cars. Air pollution can not be ignored because the motor of the car relies the combustion reaction. When the combustion releases a lot of molecules of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide and so on, it has become an environmental problem. Not only does air pollution of cars decreases the freshness of air, but also it makes components of the natural gas out of balance. Moreover, there are negative effects on people who live near the highways because of noise pollution. Any organization or country which is blind to this point that is to discourage people to drive will pay a lot for the results.

 

In the second place, since the highway traffic is not fluent, an increasing number of people have to consider to take subway to go to work. A research from the department of Social Science in the University of Toronto shows 87% of  the fulltime office men would rather take subway than drive their own cars to work in Canada. People tend to take the most convenient transportation to go outside. Since cars are not the most convenient transportation any more, people will be thinking to change their ways to reach their work places.

 

Last but not least, because of the changes of consciousness of people, more people are probable to invest money into something which is more meaningful in the future twenty years, such as children’s education, houses, stocks, especially in many developing countries. For example, in China, people prefer to spend money on children’ education or houses instead of on cars. Compared with cars whose values will be decreased in several years, the invest of houses will be more considerable to bring about a large income.

 

In conclude, in my opinion, the requirements of cars will decrease because of the pollution of the cars, the inconvenience of the traffic and the consciousness of people. In the future years, cars will not play such an important role as today.
