Though sucking zinc lozenges has been promoted as a treatment for the common cold, research has revealed no consistent effect.  Recently, however, a zinc gel applied nasally has been shown to greatly reduce the duration of colds.  Since the gel contains zinc in the same form and concentration as the lozenges, the greater effectiveness of the gel must be due to the fact that cold viruses tend to concentrate in the nose, not the mouth.

这道题给的答案是D。但貌似很不合理，D是gel和lozenges是否同时具有某种特质，而原文结论是两者区别，显然与结论的具体性不符。

个人意见应选B。Test：对B做肯定回答，则证明治疗cold的关键在口而非鼻，因此weaken.

D，Y: if gel has positive ingredients or lozenge has negetive ingredients the conclusion cannot be reached; if gel has negetive or lozenge has positive, the conclusion is strenthened.

     N: gel is effective than lozenge

B中remedies是无关词，原文根本没有涉及他的讨论，直接排除

谢谢大侠指教，不过还是有些地方不理解：

D.     Whether either the zinc gel or the lozenges ...意思是gel或lozenges对zinc的活性有影响，并没要求两者一定是相反的作用啊？

而且对D的直接肯定性回答是“是，有影响！”，可这并不能weaken在鼻不在口的结论啊？

此题目结论的聚焦点在cold viruses集中在nose还是mouth，不是zinc的活性是否受影响？

B中即便暂且承认remedies是无关词，但对B的肯定回答的确能对结论weaken，这又该怎么解释呢？

请大侠赐教！！！

如果回答否就是排除了他因，加强推理过程。

我觉得B即使回答了是也不能削弱结论啊，B只是说remedies can reduce the duration of colds,并没有和zinc比较啊，也没有涉及到gel和lozenge横向比较，for example, 如果该remedy比lozenge的缓解效果还低，你如何削弱结论呢？

做题时注意题干的推理过程，不要太钻结论的牛角

做evaluation of an argument类题目要看选项“是和否”两方面
