1.Due to cultural background and language weakness,it's pretty hard for chinese students to get a post in U.S.A,excluding those who moved there before undergraduate.

2.Only an ounce MBA graduates can get a post-MBA job in VC/PE,the graduates who ranked top 5% in magic 7 b-schools and have a strong pre-MBA work experience in top I-banking.

3.Workload of IB,MC,VC/PE is much higher than that of IT firms(MC,VC/PE 60--80 hrs/week,IB 80--100 hrs/week).

4.Almost all the top MBA graduates can get a fast payback, and most chinese graduates in top b-schools got global pay in China, regardless of the finance tsunami time like 2009.For more info,I strongly recomment you to read the "career report" of your target b-schools as a reference. You can see it at their official websites, then select "your career".

5.Visa?No need to worry about it,as long as you get an offer.

6.As for what major is best adjusted to you,it is dependent on your personal interest, your strength, and your vision about your future, although i-banks and consulting firms always contribute the majority of top MBA graduates' employers.

Thanks for your explaination in detail and your opinion sounds very professional. So from your point of view, it is not a wise choice for me to covert from IT field to I-Banking or investiment, right? How about consulting?

No,I didn't mean that any type of job fits you or not.I can only tell you it's very diffifult for you to get a post in VC/PE.But even if you are a rookie in Finance,it is possible that you get a  post-MBA position in I-banks.Consulting is the same.Generally, about 3/4 graduating students reported a career change either in industry or in function from their pre-MBA position.

If you're really interested in Finance,do not hesitate to select it.From my angle alone, personal interest is always the most vital factor for one's success.

I like what you said !

very interesting and make me thinking lots of things in real life !
