GPA is the single most important factor for JD admissions, no matter how u argue about the reliability of this stat, the fact of the matter is law schools devote a lot of attention to this number. 2. hving a low gpa does not mean u need to forget about applying for JDs, like what admissions office likes to say, its the whole package they consider. u can work hard to overcome a low gpa with a number of things, ace ur lsat, stellar resume, etc. however, its a uphill battle, the sad truth is some top schools wont accept you below a certain gpa cutoff. it only makes sense considering the applicant pool for most top JDs hv avg gpa of 3.5+
