因为第一句话说变老会使得创造力减少。第二句话是说很多在40岁以后有创造性成果的科学家都进入这个领域比较晚。第一句话是作者想要质疑的对于科学家大多是在40岁以前取得成就的解释。第二句话就是这个质疑的基础。因为如果解释成立，那么那些40岁以后的科学家就不会取得成就了。
