IS在商学院应该没那么快会close吧，学术的延续很保守的。尽管IS确实不怎么贡献学术理论，但一大批教授在这个领域，他们说close才close

job market惨到不行，估计10年都好不起来了。

I think you should not base a discipline's future with the current job market, which sucks for anyone.

IS is still young, there are many good ppl enjoying it and fighting for it. All kinds of solutions are presented in top journals and conferences.

It is too early and premature to say that a discipline is about to die.

楼上的兄弟估计还没有见过IS job market有多惨吧。当然追求研究兴趣是好的。虽然今年大家都惨，IS也不是今年才这样的。学科本身定位是最大的问题，再加上MBA对这个学科基本没有demand.
