跟风问OG-Q131倒数第二骗阅读

第131题,handicap的类比是怎么来的?文章中哪里有提关于shortly after的情况呀?

明白了,自己补上解答造福后人吧               

 Woodward confessed with ironic modesty that the

 first edition "had begun to suffer under some of the handicaps  that might be expected in a history of the American Revolution published in 1776."

因为美国内战就在1776年,所以1776年发表的评论美国内战的历史著作显然过早。所以与选项C那个在总统刚刚任职就写评价的情况是类似的

好像有点偏差吧?

American Revolution通常是指1763-1776年这段时间,在1776年出版的American Revolution 对American Revolution历史产生了影响

就像    A newspaper article assessing the historical importance of a United States president written shortly after the president has taken office会对这位总统在历史上产生影响并形成"新"的历史.

(3) should be the correct choice.

A handicap is something which has an adverse affect on performance.

The example given in the passage is "a history of the American Revolution published in 1776". (As an aside, remember that the GMAT is a US test and everyone in the US is expected to know as matter of fact that the American Revolution took place in and around 1776.)

So, the problem is that the history is written as the event is actually taking place.

(3) is the only choice that gets this timing issue across.

(2) doesn't mention when the critique is written, so it outside the scope of the question.
