The degree in finance is an MBA.  The degree in Investment Management is only 30 credits.  The MS degree also prepares students for the CFA exams.

The Master of Science degree in Investment Management is designed to provide students with expertise to make effective financial analysis and investment decisions. The program is designed for students to learn skills for investment management, as well as for professionals outside the investment management industry to gain knowledge and skills for financial analysis and tackling investment problems. The curriculum includes ethics, economics, finance, financial reporting, and quantitative methods, taught by faculty members from three departments at the Tobin College of Business. While the curriculum of the program is narrowly focused and covers most of the body of knowledge that students will need to become Certified Financial Analysts (CFAs), the curriculum is intended to provide rigorous academic and applied content, not solely CFA examination review topics.

Focusing on aspects of economics, financial reporting, finance, securities, and derivatives relevant to modern investment analysis, it brings together theories, practices, strategies, and methodologies designed to reflect the current state of the field of investment management and analysis. The body of knowledge to be mastered includes:
·        Ethical and professional standards
·        Economic theory and applications
·        Financial statement analysis
·        Corporate finance
·        Analysis of equity, debt, and alternative investments
·        Analysis of derivatives
·        ortfolio management

The MBA is 36-54 credits, depending on your concentration. There is no dual degree in MBA and MS Finance.

There is no minimum GPA.  The school look at all components of the application to make an admissions decision.

Here is the reply from the admissions office： “We are not ranked.  This was a decision made my the president of the university who doesn’t believe in rankings.  Having said that we are ranked as a top 200 business school by US News and World.  We are also AASCB accredited.  This is important to prospects.  Only 25% of Business Schools are accredited and we are.  lacement is competitive."



there is no dual degree in msf and mba, only mba has finance concentration.

我的情况是这样的 gmat 690 T89，本科是理科, 国内top3， gpa有点低2.5左右吧，三年工作经验。一年的trader，两年国内券商的investment consultor。 这样的情况你觉得有希望么？   谢谢。。。

i think it won't count, if the degree is not achieved in US. but let me double check for you. you can msg me the names of your university in China and US.
