想再求证一下，关于同志们说的E的with多余问题。

如果没有with，即按A的结构来说，句子的主语是什么呢？

The thirteen original British colonies in North America，和后面的some.. others是什么关系？同位语的关系么？

另外each had是独立主格么？

脑子比较混，忘牛牛赐教！

关于伴随结构有没有with造成了不同语体(style)色彩，有with的多用于日常会话比较自然，有些地方并不把这种结构称为独立主格，而是成为"with+复合宾语"，而没有with的就成为独立主格了，多用于书面语，含描绘性和文学性.

each had是主语和谓语，同时each作为The thirteen original British colonies in North America的同位语；前面的some...others...是独立主格，独立主格结构中又包含了一个并列的结构。

为什么这里的B不对，新东方上课的时候老师讲，while后面一定要跟句子，但是我觉得Celiachen说的才是对的。可是根据while可以省略的方式，那么这题B也是可以的，但是答案是E

状语从句的省略:
a) 正确形式:
表示时间/条件/转折/让步的连词(when/while/if/unless/although/even though/even if) + 形容词短语/-ing短语/-ed短语
b) 错误形式:表示时间/条件/转折的连词 + 介词短语/名词短语
c) 特殊情况nce可以加介词短语/名词短语; whatever可以加名词短语

其次while没有必要 经常有无故加了while错的选项 会产生歧义 一个是“当。。。时候”还有一个是转折的意思 这里都没有比较加while 因为这里没有转折 只是陈述两种情况 并不是but的关系

        SOME..., OTHERS --- 是独立主格？ 因为formed 可以作为过去分词作修饰

        主句是 each had？  （each 在这里不是独立主格）each 的独立主格形式= each+名词+名词/形容词/分词/介系词

 

      这题实在是晕菜了。请高手求证！

说实话，这道题我是卡在but上面了。

记得之前做题but是连词，于是就默认如果but连接，后面一定还要出现主语和谓语，其实这种想法是不对的。如果把but和and看作一样的（本来就是一样的吧），and也是可以连接两个名词的，就如这题。见笑！

        SOME..., OTHERS --- 是独立主格？ 因为formed 可以作为过去分词作修饰

        主句是 each had？  （each 在这里不是独立主格）each 的独立主格形式= each+名词+名词/形容词/分词/介系词
