Manufacturers sometimes discount the price of a product to retailers for a promotion period when the product is advertised to consumers. Such promotion often results in a dramatic increase in amount of product sold by the manufacturers to retailers. Nevertheless, the manufacturers could often make more profit by not holding the
promotions.

Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the claim above about the manufacturers’ profit?

(A)The amount of discount generally offered by manufacturers to retailers is carefully calculated to represent the minimum needed to draw consumers’ attention to the product.

(B)For many consumer products the period of advertising discounted prices to consumers is about a week, not sufficiently long for consumers to become used to the sale price.

(C)For products that are not newly introduced, the purpose of such promotions is to keep the products in the minds of consumers and to attract consumers who are currently using competing products.

到底B错在哪里啊?看完所有帖子,理由如下。可是依旧觉得不是十分信服,还想听听NN的高见,谢谢了。

1、M的客户是retailer,consumer.

2、”used”跟销量无关,不能自己推论!!

本题逻辑是:manufacturers 想通过discount向消费者推销产品。这个promotion使得产品的销售增长了,但是manufacturers的利润却没有增长。问如何支持这个claim实际上是如何解释销售增长,利润不增加。B说消费者没有习惯这个促销价,那是说没买吗?实际上销量是增加了,说明管他习不习惯,反正销售是上去了,结果还是没有解释销售额和利润的问题
