Ross is VERY VERY strong in high tech marketing.  Cisco, Microsoft, Amazon, among others, are big high tech marketing recruiters.  For example, this summer Cisco hired most MBA students from Ross (comparing to MBA interns from other schools), and the majority of them are marketing.  Most of high tech marketing are general manager-like career path, and will involve a wide variety of responsibilities.  And they pay very well

Your package will be reviewed as a whole. Toefl will be only part of the package.  It will be better if you can demonstrate high English capability through some kind of conversational event, interview for example.

You don't need to create auto-related career goal just to attract adcom's attention - that does not matter at all.  Career swithers are everywhere at Ross.  As long as your essay and your story make sense, you are fine if your career goal is different from what you are doing.  If you are really passionate about auto, which i know a lot of folks do, and really want to make it your career goal, say it.

过完这个winter, 你们也要做MAP了吧。估计二年级的前辈已经在找工作了，你们和他们平常的交流多吗？最近除了MBA最关心的就是global economy depression.  投行倒闭，汽车巨头要破产保护，IT公司开始大规模裁员，这些对Ross准备做consulting这块的同学申请intern和job opportunity的影响有多大呢？谢谢啦~

Not sure about your question though...  Are you saying job offers from outside US?  There are a lot of such opportunities. We have of course major global companies hiring for China operations, JNJ, DoPont, Eli Lily, to name a few. Consulting firms are also recruiting for offices almost everywhere around the world.  Also we have major banks as Barclays and Citi recruiting for very internationally based position (not a bank person so only can say these two but I know there are a lot more).  Firms like Samsung also recruit here for Korean office, which even does not require you speak Korean.  In a word, we have absolutely diversified opportunities here at Ross.

Yes we do have lots of communication with 1st years.  Current economy situation does impact recruiting a lot, but Ross is very lucky in that it attracts very diversified company base to campus.  Banks, esp. IB, apparently are cutting back, but we see opportunities coming from every other industries.  IT companies are still recruiting here for sure - just heard two of my friends got Microsoft offers.  Auto, though in horrible situation, is still recruiting, believe it or not.  Not only big three, but also I saw Mercedez, Toyota, BMW, etc.  As for consulting, some firms are still recruiting, while some are holding back, which impacted not only Ross, but also every other b-school.  During this crisis, I really appreciate that Ross is SO diversified that we are not negatively being impacted as much as some of others schools are.
