关于推荐信

准备申请2009FALL的商学院博士

今天搞到一个牛人的推荐信

沃顿的博士 我现在就读学校的商学院某强项专业的系头

我准备申请的所有学校里都有他的校友

这封推荐信会有多大的帮助啊?

    

不过我跟他不是很熟　正在上他的一门课　应该能拿Ａ　去年选过他们系的两门　当时

是他给我授权选的　但最后只拿了Ｂ　他答应给我写推荐信的时候很爽快　我就怕他给

我的推荐信不太证明　毕竟接触不多　自己又没有很突出的表现　而且他说让我把申请

学校的地址给他　他会直接把推荐信寄过去 会不会推荐力度不够反而有负面影响呢？

教授名气没问题　top级别的　就怕推荐信有负面的东西　谢谢

负面内容其实基本不会的,这个不用太担心,他那么爽快不会那么不厚道的.

但没有太多了解,所以不可能是那种超好的,估计写的还是比较客套的内容,比如成绩不错,学习用功等等,不会有那种一封信让你拿到offer的作用。

总的来说，他的名气还是会加很多分.

对了，那什么算是超好的呢？成绩好，学习用功是基本要写的是吧？然后其他的要写研究经历吗？

what u wrote in the RL when u apply US school from China is the RL which is  "super good'. 那个人给你写就不错了，别想太多了。

听过一些反面的例子(推荐信内容不好而导致申请搞砸)才会有这种担心
不过这个教授答应的时候确实很爽快

a *super* rl is a letter from someone knowing you very well. He should know at least half of the following information of yours: when you started to think about applying to b-school phd, what preparations you have had before, what research you have done. These are some facts he *must* have an idea about. Still, this does not make a rl *super*. In order for that to happen, he, in addition, needs to be familiar with your working habits (for example, you are very detail-oriented, or you are highly curious and sharp in posing questions, etc.) or he needs to know about your deeper belief and appreciate it, (eg. he can say "this student is very concerned with the ...problem and has a strong commitment to change it...blablabla".

fzxc is right, don't think too much about it. It won't happen on your case. (I'm not da3 ji1 ni3 on purpose), but at this time you can't do anything on that.  It is already a luck that he will write for you and it is already a plus to your application.
