If n is a positive integer and r is the remainder when
(n-1)(n+1) is divided by 24, what is the value of r?

    

(1)
          2 is not a factor of n.

    

(2)
          3 is not a factor of n.

结合起来，2，3都不是因子，所以，n－1，n，n＋1三个数里，n－1和n＋1都是偶数对吧，且，两个相邻偶数肯定有一个能被4整除吧？另一个被2整除，而n不是3的倍数，所以n－1和n＋1里肯定有一个得是3的倍数对吧

所以，能被2*4*3整除。C
