以下是解释：

(A) Abigail Adams or Dolly Madison ever had been结构中,had been省略结构无法还原,    也就是说

had been无法承接she shattered进行省略

就是想问这个“had been无法承接she shattered进行省略”的意思是不是指she shattered是过去时

而had been是完成时 所以不能进行承接 也就是省略必须时态一致。 或者还有其他的什么解释吗？请大家赐教啊

比较中be动词是无法承接实习动词shattered的，要用也得用had done.

其实是比较时助动词习惯补出但补出要根据前面的谓语补出,I play tennis better than Mary does.此时does是根据play补的,.而本题中,没有be动词出现所以补不出had been

我觉得后者用过去完成时没错，错误在于多了个been，因为与之平行的she shattered expectations 是主动语态，后者应该是more audaciously than either Abigail Adams or Dolly Madison ever had shattered。
