我认为E选项中，consuming 做定语从句中which这个指代了bears的代词，也就是定语从句的主语的伴随状语。

句子分解如下SVO部分加粗，Modifiers按级别用{[(< >)]}分解，蓝、绿色为不同从句级别的SVO:

The army cutworm moth is a critical source of fat for many of Yellowstone National Park’s grizzly bears[, which overturn rocks to find the insects, (consuming as many as 40,000 apiece in a single day.)]

记住碰到这种伴随状语V-ing在结尾的，如果前面有插入过从句，要注意是否有歧义，是指代主句的主语，还是从句的主语。这时候就又要从语义的角度来理解句子。
