第一篇习作,请大家修改

写作文好痛苦啊,今天憋了一个小时,像挤牙膏似的写了这300个字,自己也不知道怎么修改,只能求助好心人了。

Topic 9  Some people prefer to live in a small town. Others prefer to live in a big city. Which place would you prefer to live in? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

Some people prefer to live in big city, while I prefer to live in a small town. To me, living in a small town means good environment, convenient transportation and sense of safety, which are the most important factors of a good place to live.

The environment of a small town, generally speaking, is better than a big city. In many big cites, the air is polluted by cars and factories, the drinking water is smelly, the street is noisy. But in most of small towns, you can smell the fragrance of grass in the morning when you open the window; you can drink the running water from the faucet directly; you will be wake up by the song of the birds except by the traffic noise.

Further more, the traffic in small town is much convenient than that in big cities. In recent years, heavy traffic has been one of the most series problem in big cites. It is very common for people living in big cites to spend more than two hours on the road everyday. The public traffic is always busy in rush hours. In contrast, driving in a small town is lucky. Though there is much less buses in small towns, you could get a seat almost every time, and the bus trip won’t be boring because you could find acquaintances in the bus easily.

Safety is the basic need of human beings. Life in a small town could provide much more safety than life in a big city. Generally, the rates of crime in small towns are lower than that of big cities. It’s easier to get help in a small town if you met some problem because people know each other better in small towns. Because a small town is a society of acquaintance, the stores in small towns are less likely to sell fake products and the food in restaurant is safer than big cites.

没有人帮我改啊,我自己再贴一个我的英语老师帮忙改过的版本

Where shall we live? Some may choose to live in small towns, while others like the excitement in big cites. I have experienced life in a small town as well as that in a big city. I feel that a small town could provide a good environment, convenient transportation, and a sense of security, all of which are important factors in deciding a good place to live.

Generally speaking, the environment of a small town is better than that of a big city. In many big cities, the air is polluted by cars and factories, the drinking water is smelly, streets are noisy. But, in most small towns one is awakened by the song of birds instead of traffic noise.  One can smell the fragrance of grass in the morning upon opening the window, and one can drink water from the source.

In recent years, heavy traffic has been one of the most serious problems in big cites because it is congestive. It is very common for people living in big cities to spend more than two hours commuting everyday. Because rush hours are so emotionally draining, driving in a small town seems refreshing. Although the transportation is limited in small towns, one could get a seat almost every time on a bus trip. And, it is never boring because one can always find some acquaintance riding.

Another very important consideration is security, a basic need of human beings. Life in small towns gives the feeling of more safety because people tend to know and care about each other. Whereas, in large cities neighbors rarely get to know each other because their schedules are so hectic. Generally speaking, the rates of crime in small towns are lower than those of big cities. It’s easier to get assistance in an emergency in a small town.

Because everybody knows everybody else in a small town, store owners are more likely to be honest and generous, and eating establishments are more inclined to serve larger portions of familiar food. And based on all of these examples, small town living is much more preferable to big city excitement.
